Woman Steals Laptop, Asks Victim for Password: Fort Worth Police – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth

Police said a woman stole a man’s laptop in Fort Worth and tried to sell it back to him.

Fort Worth police said the man’s vehicle was broken into Tuesday while it was parked outside his home in the 4500 block of Buffalo Bend Place. His laptop and bag containing business cards was stolen.

The next day, a woman tried to sell the man’s laptop to a pawn shop in the 4000 block of East Lancaster Avenue. Police said the transaction was denied when the woman could not unlock the laptop.

The woman then left the pawn shop in a black Chevy Malibu with a spoiler and black rims.

About 30 minutes later, police said the victim received a text message asking for the laptop’s password. The victim refused, but offered to buy the laptop back for $150. The man agreed to meet on Brentwood Stair Road, but then all communication stopped.

Fort Worth police asked anyone with information about this incident call Det. B. Kenjura at 817-392-4622.
