Apple recently sent out invites to its March 21st event where we are expected to see a few new products from the Cupertino-based company such as the 4-inch iPhone SE, 9.7-inch iPad Pro, fresh Apple Watch models and possibly a new MacBook Pro.
While there aren’t any confirmations from Apple about the next MacBook Pro models, we’ve seen the current 13-inch and 15-inch models unveiled last year in March and May respectively So it only makes sense to expect somewhat of the same later in the month.
It’s hard to decipher how this event will go, as Apple tends to be secretive with its intentions when it comes to releasing new products on to the market and for great reasons.
Rumors suggest that the new MacBook Pro might benefit from better battery life, if Apple decides to go in the direction of companies like Microsoft and Dell with the use of Skylake processors from Intel. This sixth generation processor will give greater performance with reduced power consumption using a 14 nm manufacturing process, which will be sure to add more value to the next MacBook.
There are rumors circulating that we may see detachable touch-screen functionality for the 2016 models. it’s something nice to think about, but what people want is more processing power and improved battery life which rank higher on the list for some users versus a touch-screen. It would also be very nice if Apple continues with a quad-core i7 processor in this year’s model as it is with the current 15-inch MacBook Pro. While the 13-inch and the 15-inch models have an excellent 10 hours and 8 hours of battery life respectively, any improvement on those numbers are an attractive offer for consumers.
But we may not see the new MacBook Pro models début until WWDC instead of the March 21st keynote address. There’s lots of excitement surrounding the smaller 4-inch iPhone and the iPad Air 3, that we are expecting to see unveiled later this month. We are almost there, when we’ll witness what’s in-store for us with this latest lineup of Apple products.
