Tim Cook hints the MacBook Pro update we want is on the way – BGR
Apple last week unveiled a bunch of new products during its iPhone fall event, with the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus sharing the spotlight. There was no surprise one more thing at the end of the show — though you could argue that Apple began with one: Super Mario for iPhone. That means we did not get to see a brief MacBook announcement during the event that was focused on mobile devices and mobile experiences. But Apple is expected to refresh some of its Mac products this year, and Tim Cook hinted that’s going to happen sooner than you think.
Recent reports indicated that Apple would unveil a redesigned MacBook Pro at some point this fall, likely in October. Apple is yet to announce a new media event, but Tim Cook answer to a reader’s email certainly looks like a confirmation that something is in the works.
“I love the Mac, and we are very committed to it. Stay tuned,” Cook said in an email reply to a MacRumors reader enquiring about the MacBook Pro refresh. According to the site, the email below appears to originate from Apple’s corporate servers.
The most recent reports claimed that Apple has a bunch of new Macs in development for a fall release, including new MacBook Pro and MacBook Air models but also new iMacs.
The MacBook Pro might receive the most impressive updates, as the iconic Apple laptop is going to get a major makeover. The laptop will be thinner and lighter than its predecessors, and it’ll feature a secondary OLED touch display atop the keyboard.
The MacBook Air, meanwhile, is receiving USB-C ports, reports claimed, and the new iMac models will get AMD graphics.
