NOPD tracks stolen laptop to N.O. East gas station – WGNO

New Orleans, La. -(WGNO)- The NOPD is asking for help in identifying the person responsible for stealing a laptop from a home in the 5100 block of Spain Street and selling it at a gas station in New Orleans East.

Investigators say that the Apple Macbook Pro Laptop was taken from the home on December 26th around 2:30 a.m., along with several other items.

The next day, Detectives say that the laptop was tracked to a gas station located at Chef Menteur Hwy and Downman Road.

Detectives viewed the store’s video surveillance and observed an unknown black male enter the gas station with the laptop and then selling the laptop to an employee.

The employee who bought the stolen laptop, 26-year-old Sirbill Mahmoud, was booked with Possession of Stolen Property.

Detectives are asking for your help in identifying the suspect who sold the laptop, seen in surveillance video.
