Microsoft has been making waves in the market for its Surface Pro line. Efficiency has become almost synonymous with the brand and with the Surface Pro 5 coming out soon, tech enthusiasts are excited to see what Microsoft will throw out next.


Meanwhile, Apple has also been keeping consumers at the edge of their seats with the upcoming MacBook Pro 2016. The two devices are expected to arrive within months of each other, creating stiff competition for two tech giants.

Microsoft Surface Pro 5

The Surface Pro 5 is estimated to be priced at a $900 – $2000 range, all depending on the specifications of the unit.

1. Touch Improvements

According to Mobile N Apps, the Surface Pro 5 will be mostly similar to its predecessors in terms of build and design. This is expected, as there have been very few complaints on the same.

2. Intel Kaby Lake Chip Processor

The Surface Pro 5 is expected to be powered by an Intel Kaby Lake Chip Processor. Further, the device will come installed with the latest operating system, the Windows 10 Redstone 2.

3. Surface Pen

Microsoft’s Surface Pen is one of the features that truly makes the Surface Pro line stand out. However, with the upcoming Surface Pro 5, Microsoft is set to upgrade the same tremendously. In fact, the new Surface Pen is expected to incorporate a wireless charging feature, thereby bettering the entire experience altogether.

Apple MacBook Pro 2016

The MacBook 2016 is coming in more expensive than the Surface Pro at $1099 – $2099, depending on particulars.

1. Design Changes

Meanwhile, Yibada notes that the upcoming MacBook Pro 2016 will be coming with some major design changes. That is, that improvements to the Touch ID, fingerprint scanner and keyboard. More specifically, Apple may incorporate a butterfly keyboard as opposed to the standard one, which is seen in the current MacBook lineup.

2. Skylake Processor

A Skylake Processor is expected to power the upcoming MacBook Pro 2016. Further, it will have NFC chip technology.

3. Better graphics display

The MacBook Pro 2016 will have an OLED display of 2304 x 1440 resolution. Further, the device will be 5K video compatible. These features will definitely increase the graphics quality, thus making game play more enjoyable.
