Man caught on video swiping laptop from Starbucks store,… – KPRC Houston

HOUSTON – A man who authorities say was caught on video swiping a laptop from a Starbucks in the Westchase area is being sought by police.

Police said the man is seen on surveillance video walking up to a table with an unattended laptop bag at the Starbucks at 11805 Westheimer Road on the afternoon of June 6, grabbing the bag and walking out of the store.

The victim told police that he returned to the same store four days later when he saw a man carrying the same laptop bag as the one that was stolen from him. The victim followed the man to a vehicle and said a second man left the store and got into the driver’s seat of the vehicle and two left.

Police compared the surveillance video of the man with photos that the victim took, and investigators said it was the same person.

The accused thief is described as a Hispanic male in his late 50s to early 60s with salt-and-pepper gray hair. He was wearing glasses and is about 5 feet 8 inches tall.

Anyone with information is asked to call the HPD Burglary and Theft Division at 713-308-0900 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
