There is still no confirmed reports from Apple regarding the next version of their flagship laptop brand, the MacBook Pro. Rumors are rife that 2016 will be the right year for the Cupertino-based tech giant to update the MacBook Pro model, although tech analysts and enthusiasts are expecting something more perceptible in the MacPro’s anticipated upgrade.
According to the latest rumors, the 2016 MacBook Pro will feature major changes not only in software but also in the general appearance or peripherals of the laptop. iTech Post reported that the physical appearance of the MacBook Pro will receive a couple of revisions with the upcoming 2016 version. The online publication noted that there has not been a major or noticeable upgrading of the MacBook Pro’s design since the 2012 version of the laptop came out.
One of the highly speculated features of the MacBook Pro 2016 is the new dedicated OLED touch panel. With the inclusion of this panel, it is expected that the users can finally say goodbye to the traditional function keys of the Apple laptop. If this turns out correct, it will be a huge change in the physical makeup of the MacBook Pro.
It is also likely that Apple will include the Touch ID function in the upcoming MacBook Pro, as the new MacOS Sierra for the company’s laptops will have a fingerprint sensor technology. This was already featured in the iPhone and iPad brands, and it is possible that the MacBook Pro will be getting the same security feature this year.
Aside from the new all-touch feature of the MacBook Pro through the OLED panel, it is rumored that the MacBook Pro 2016 will be sporting a thin appearance, thanks to the inclusion of smaller USB-C ports to its design. Apple Insider reported that the MacBook Pro 2016 will be possibly adding the latest USB-C ports with high speed 3.1.
On the other hand, Mac World reported that the 2016 MacBook Pro will come out by the last quarter of this year.
