A charitable donation from Toledo Edison will help the Lucas County Sheriff’s Office respond to recovering drug addicts.

The company provided five laptop computers for the office’s Drug Abuse Response Team. Sheriff John Tharp announced the gift today during an event at the office.

DART team members, who work directly with addicts and steer low-level drug offenders into treatment, will use the laptops to track cases and keep up program participants, Sheriff Tharp said.

“It will make it quicker for them to be able to function as they should,” he said.
