A Queens middle-school teacher dated a former student and kept images of at least eight female students on a school laptop computer, investigators found.
IS 227 teacher Stephen Taormina allegedly “tongue kissed” and groped a ninth-grade student in his car after beginning an illicit relationship with her the summer after she graduated from the intermediate school, a Special Commissioner of Investigation report says.
School investigators discovered the behavior while investigating the reported theft of a school computer in March 2014.
Police traced the missing computer to Taormina’s Suffolk County home and returned it to the school. Taormina, 41, told a detective he had permission to take the computer home, which another school official denied, the report said.
Investigators examined the laptop’s hard drive and discovered photos of at least eight girls and pornographic images downloaded from the Internet dating back to July 9, 2013, the report said.
Probers identified the girls as former students of the Elmhurst school where Taormina taught.
Taormina, who earned $82,900 in 2015-16, refused to speak with SCI investigators and did not return a message to The Post. He resigned in April 2016 and has been barred from working in city public schools, Kaye said.
