‘My laptop is buried in Cairo and PC World won’t help’ – Telegraph.co.uk

I bought my daughter a laptop at PC World and took out the “Whatever Happens” care plan to cover repairs and breakdown. My daughter is living in Cairo and her apartment block collapsed last month. No one was injured but all her belongings were destroyed. She only had the clothes she was wearing and her phone.

I sent PC World photographs of the utterly destroyed building and explained that everything was buried under tons of concrete and rubble. I also sent copies of the incident report that my daughter filed with the police. PC World refuses to honour the policy, as it says it needs to see the laptop to decide if it can repair it. 


Try as I have over several weeks to change PC World’s mind, it still insists that its terms and conditions clearly state that it would need to physically examine the product before a claim can be made.
