Man arrested for stealing laptop, trading it for heroin –

KIRKWOOD, Mo. ( – Kirkwood Police arrested a man Monday for stealing a laptop and trading it for heroin. 

Court documents said Alexander Legrand, 20, was listening to music with the victim on her Apple MacBook. She later excused herself, and when she returned, Legrand and the laptop were gone.

The victim contacted an acquaintance of Legrand, who told her Legrand traded the laptop worth at least $500 for $40 worth of heroin. 

Police said the incident took place in the victim’s home April 19, 2015. Legrand confessed to taking the laptop and trading it for heroin. He said the man he gave the laptop to later told him the computer had been stolen from his car.
