JMRL cardholders can soon borrow Chromebook laptops – The Charlottesville Newsplex

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) — The Jefferson-Madison Regional Library’s Central Library will begin letting cardholders borrow Chromebook laptops next week.

Library cardholders will be allowed to use the laptops for civic, creative, cultural, educational, personal or business activities.

According to a release, all that is needed to borrow a laptop is a valid JMRL library card and a signed user agreement., which must be signed by an adult if the cardholder is under 16.

The library asks that borrowers not leave the laptops unattended while being used.

It also says cardholders will be responsible for any lost or damaged Chromebooks, at the cost of $300.

The laptops must also be returned on the same day as they were checked out.

People who have computer use only cards will not be able to check out the laptops.

JMRL says the laptops will be available to borrow beginning on Oct. 10.
