Hartford Police: Two Men Stole Laptops From School – Hartford Courant
HARTFORD—Police are looking for two men suspected of stealing 35 Macbook Air laptop computers from Weaver Culinary School.
Deputy Chief Brian Foley said police were called to the school at 8:22 a.m. on a burglary complaint.
Two suspects, both black males, were seen on security footage forcing the doors to the school open and breaking a hallway window to enter the school. The suspects then fled though the school gym and left the building running west. One suspect was wearing a blue hooded winter coat, dark pants and red shoes. The other was wearing a red hooded coat, dark pants, and light colored shoes.
Foley said when officers got to the school they found ceiling tiles pulled down from the storage room where the laptops were locked and the window to the principal’s office smashed. Police canvassed the area with a K-9 unit but were unable to locate the suspects.
The laptops had been locked to a charging station, but the locks were removed by the suspects with bolt cutters. One Macbook Air retails for approximately $1,000.
