Chris Wallace calls former US envoy’s testimony ‘devastating’ to Trump and Giuliani – Washington Examiner
Fox News host Chris Wallace characterized the testimony of former U.S. special envoy to Ukraine Kurt Volker as “devastating” to President Trump.
Wallace appeared on Shepard Smith Reporting on Friday to explain Volker’s testimony, which the former U.S. envoy privately presented to congressional investigators on Thursday.
“This 11-page opening statement is quite devastating to the president’s and [Trump personal attorney] Rudy Giuliani’s case,” Wallace said. “It basically says that Volker, who all sides agree was kind of an honest broker in this whole thing, was very disturbed by the information — he thought disinformation — that various Ukrainian officials were sending to Rudy Giuliani.”
Volker testified that Giuliani took the disinformation from Ukrainian officials back to Trump, an that act may have instigated Trump to suggest that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky look into former Vice President Joe Biden, according to Wallace.
“Volker also repeatedly says that he does not believe that Joe Biden did anything wrong or that he was any way affected by his son’s finances,” Wallace said.
Volker also testified that he told the Ukrainian government to stay away from investigating Biden to please Trump or risk bipartisan support for Ukraine in Washington.
