Cancer patient’s laptop stolen out of family’s car – KPRC Houston

HOUSTON – A young woman being treated for cancer in Houston had her laptop, which she uses to chronicle her battle against the disease, stolen out of her family’s car Wednesday.

Jillian Williams, who is being treated for a rare bone cancer at the MD Anderson Cancer Center, said her family brought up her laptop Wednesday. While they were dining at a restaurant on the Southwest Freeway, someone broke into their car and stole not only her laptop, but also an Apple Watch.

Williams, 19, said that the laptop not only lets her blog about her experiences, but also contains pictures of her progress.

Recently, doctors had to amputate her leg. Now, she’s back in the hospital to be treated for an infection.

Jokingly, the woman said that she has hit the cancer lottery, and she uses her blog to escape. She said she believes the blog lets other cancer patients talk to each other without feeling awkward.

Williams said that the thieves seemed to only be interested in the electronics in the car, but she just wants all of her pictures back at least.

The family said they will pay a cash reward if the laptop is returned with all of the pictures still on it.
