After losing a bet to New York Rep. Steve Israel on the Mets and Los Angeles Dodgers series, California Rep. Adam Schiff held up his end of the bargain and sang “Meet the Mets” on the House floor on Friday. He hated every second of it.
The Mets beat the Dodgers in a five-game series before they swept the Chicago Cubs to advance to the World Series. They will either play the Toronto Blue Jays or the Kansas City Royals.
As brutal as Schiff’s rendition of “Meet the Mets” was, it isn’t the worst baseball-related singing performance to ever happen.
At Wrigley Field — home of the Cubs — during the seventh-inning stretch, a special guest usually sings “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” and there’s been plenty of laughable moments.
Here are a few of the worst:
