Trump’s social media chief asks Twitter whether president should follow Hillary – New York Post

President Trump’s social media director is asking the Commander-in-Tweet’s millions of followers whether he should follow Hillary Clinton on Twitter.

“Who is the #1 ‘WHO TO FOLLOW’ Twitter recommendation for @realDonaldTrump, on his feed? Will share on Monday!,” Dan Scavino Jr. posted on Twitter late Saturday.

Along with Clinton, Scavino suggested House Speak Paul Ryan, Fox News and the GOP to the president’s 38.5 million followers.

Then, after being blasted on the messaging site about his selections, Scavino then tweeted about a hour later “I did not pick the choices.”

He was referring to Twitter’s “Who to Follow” function that is based on algorithms that make personalized suggestions to its users.

While Trump has millions of followers, he follows just 45 accounts, including Scavino, Fox News’ anchors Tucker Carlson and Jesse Watters, as well as “Fox and Friends,” a number of his resort properties, family members, his special counselor Kellyanne Conway and his former White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus.

Scavino, who also served as Trump’s social media director during the presidential campaign, was criticized for retweeting a post that showed waters from Hurricane Irma flooding Miami International Airport and urging people to “stay safe.”

He deleted it after airport officials said it wasn’t from Miami.
