Tropical Storm Erika forms in the Atlantic – Miami Herald
Danny may be done, Erika has arrived.
The tropical storm formed Monday evening over the central tropical Atlantic Ocean, according to the National Hurricane Center.
At 5 a.m. Tuesday, Erika was 840 miles east of the Leeward Islands and moving west at 20 mph. The storm had sustained winds of 45 mph with gusts at 60.
A tropical storm watch has been issued for Montserrat, Antigua, Barbuda and St. Kitts.
