Police tie 9th incident to Phoenix ‘serial street shooter’ – USA TODAY
PHOENIX â Police on Wednesday confirmed the latest incident linked to a “serial street shooter” already suspected of killing seven people.
On July 11, an unidentified man shot at a vehicle in a residential neighborhood in the 3000 block of East Oak Street in Phoenix. A 21-year-old man and a 4-year-old boy were in the vehicle, but neither was injured.
The shooting is the ninth that authorities have tied to the shooter, and the most recent. The last known attack was a triple homicide in Maryvale community in west Phoenix on June 12.
The shots were fired about a mile north of the 500 block of North 32nd Street, where the body of 55-year-old Krystal Annette White was discovered in the early-morning hours of April 19. Police believe White was the second person killed by the shooter.
Based on witness statements, investigators believe that the shooter has access to multiple vehicles. The two best described are a white Cadillac- or Lincoln-type vehicle and a black late 1990s or early 2000s 5 Series BMW.
FBI officials additionally announced that the reward has been raised from $30,000 to $50,000 for any information leading to the shooter’s arrest.
Police last month released two sketches of the suspect â one from the front and one from the side.
