‘He’s got you guys all spun up': Jim Jordan defends Trump comments on China and Biden – Washington Examiner

OhioRep. Jim Jordan said that many journalists are misreading President Trump’s apparent call for China to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden and his son, Hunter.

ABC host George Stephanopoulos pressed Jordan on Sunday to condemn or affirm Trump for remarks the president made to the press last week, when he said, “China should start an investigation into the Bidens.”

“I think he has got you guys all spun up,” Jordan told Stephanopoulos. “I don’t think he really meant, ‘Go investigate.’ Do you think China is going to investigate [the Bidens]?”

“We know they’re not,” Jordan said, arguing that Trump’s comments were a way of putting a focus on the Bidens’ dealings in China. “You would think after a few years of following this president, you would understand sort of how this guy communicates.”

A reporter asked Trump on Thursday what he hoped Ukraine would do when he asked Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky to work with Rudy Giuliani, Trump’s personal lawyer, to look into the Bidens.

“Well, I would think that, if they were honest about it, they’d start a major investigation into the Bidens. It’s a very simple answer. They should investigate the Bidens, because how does a company that’s newly formed and all these companies, if you look at — and by the way, likewise, China should start an investigation into the Bidens,” Trump has said.
